Villa Maria Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot 2006

*****

I found this wine too heavy and peppery-spicy to drink on its own. It's probably better suited to drinking with food. Cherry, oak tones just a bit too over powering for me. #wine

Katnook Estate Red Wine Coonawarra Austrialian Shiraz 2004

*****

I was delighted to be given a gift of this wine. The Katnook Estate is from the interesting region of Coonawarra which produces some really decent Australian red wines.

Le Cigare Volant Bonny Doon California Red Wine

*****

2002. It describes itself as a Californian Chateauneuf du Pape & I can vouch it's damn close! 36% mourvedre, 34% syrah, 22% grenache, 7% cinsault & 1% counoise grapes. Full bodied, rich, velvety, long finish. Lovely!
